This Group represents the firm in negotiation and mediation towards resolving commercial disputes. They represent Clients in commercial, civil, labor litigation and administrative proceedings before all Courts and administrative tribunals in Nigeria. The Group liaises with the Intellectual Property Group to represent Clients in intellectual property matters such as enforcement of intellectual property rights and defending claims of intellectual property infringements before trademark/patent tribunals and the relevant Courts.
This Group provides consultation on corporate and commercial law matters, including formation of businesses and subsidiaries of foreign companies, joint ventures, shares purchase agreements, transfer of technology, company formation in offshore jurisdictions, initial public offers, acquisitions, mergers and power projects. This Group offer advice on fiscal incentives and tax exemptions for new businesses and legal protection for foreign investors. The Group conducts due diligence searches and advises companies on change in government policies in relation to their business. They advise Clients on the legal and regulatory regime in the budding sectors of Nigerian economy and the procedure for obtaining relevant approvals and certificates for investments in the Nigerian market.
This Group provides legal services in intellectual property matters including registration of trademarks, copyrights, patents, industrial designs. They also negotiate franchise distributorship, agency and license agreements. The Group identifies infringements of various intellectual property rights and offer advice on protection of such rights both domestically and internationally.
